Queens of the Stone Age to Close Grammy Awards Show

The 24th Annual KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas - Day 1

This is the best news I have heard all week. In a time when rock music seems to be slowly going extinct, there just may be some hope left for the world. Queens of the Stone Age are the act set to close the Grammys. If you know nothing about the band, than you have no idea what is in store for you. Generally, Queens have a rock sound that harkens back to the awesome garage rock of the 70’s. So if you thought the Grammys were going to be all shiny pop stars and leaping rap artists, you are wrong. The Queens of the Stone Age will come out at the end and rock your wigs off.

USA Today broke the news, but we made it sound way cooler. So we end the show with The Queens of the Stone Age, and then we go to the aftershow, which will reunite Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney. So as much as it may feel like rock has take a back seat in 2013 and so far in 2014, looks like the Grammys are giving rock music its props as well. I know Queens of the Stone Age well enough to tell you that they will probably have tricks (and some guest rockers) up their sleeve. Stay tuned for details.

Oh, and speaking of Grammy Awards moments, you should check out these five weird ones. They will blow your mind.
