Joe Rogan reveals how Yoel Romero stunned Dana White and UFC doctors This is the most unusual

Yoel Romero continues to dumbfound opponents, critics and fans alike at the ripe old age of 43.

The UFC middleweight contender earned a Gold medal at the World Wrestling Championships in 1999 and claimed a Silver medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

Although he has never been a world champion in the UFC, his power and explosiveness have led to many calling him the most athletic fighter to ever compete in the UFC.

As a commentator for the organisation, Rogan has seen the Cuban up close and personal on several occasions over the years and had the pleasure of calling some of his best moments.

However, during an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience with MMA journalist Luke Thomas, Rogan revealed a story about the veteran which left Dana White and the UFC medical team stunned.

Rogan said on his podcast: “Well, did you hear me talking about Yoel Romero?

“[UFC President] Dana White gave me this information. They brought in Yoel Romero because he had a fractured orbital in one of his fights and, they bring him in, and he gets examined by this doctor, and the doctor calls the UFC up afterwards (sic) and says, ‘Where did you get this guy?’

“‘I’ve never seen anyone like him,’ ‘Oh, yeah, he’s an amazing athlete,’ ‘No, no, no. I’ve never seen a human being like this.’

“‘This is the most unusual human being I’ve ever seen in my 40 years of practicing medicine.’

“[The doctor] said [Romero’s] tendons in his eyes are four times larger than a normal person’s,” Rogan added.

“He goes, ‘His physical structure is different than any human being I’ve ever seen in my life.'”
